I went into this book without even reading the synopsis, but figured it was by K Webster so I couldn’t go wrong. Right? Right! She get’s me every damn time!!! This might just be my favorite book by her, but I don’t know, I say that every time she releases a new book.

When we first meet Caroline and Bentley they are getting engaged and so in love and we are looking forward to their story. Fast forward a little bit and they are suddenly on the brink of divorce, I mean like the papers have been drawn and they pretty much just have to sign. WTF was what I was saying……

What I loved so very much about this story was that these two are already married and just have lost their way, I personally haven’t read a book with this concept yet and I loved it right away….. I mean let’s face it -- being married is not always roses and chocolates, it takes work all the time.

K Webster shows us how easy it is to let life get in the way of your once perfect happily ever after and tear you apart. But she also shows us how wonderful it is to come back together and realize what has happened before it is too late.

“God, I’m so sorry, Care. What happened to us?” he questions in a pained voice between our kisses. “You stopped fighting for us.” His hands find my hips and he maneuvers my legs so that I’m straddling him. I’ve missed being this close to him. And I’d say that he missed me too by the massive erection that sits between us. I’m fighting now, Caroline. Please tell me it’s not too late.”

I promise you will be swooning hard core while reading this fabulous story, I couldn’t get enough and was very sad when it ended….

I read the blurb and was intrigued. When I started to read this book I was immediately sucked in to the story of these two people who still loved each other but had let life get in the way!! I read this book in 3 hours. I couldn't read fast enough. Caroline might seem like the trophy wife on the outside but she is much deeper than that. And Bentley is hot and a bit arrogant, but as you read you fall in love with him. Reading this second chance was amazing. I can't recommend this book enough. K. Webster hit this one out of the ballpark!!
Awesome Awesome book....You feel like your right there with them. Feeling their sadness, happiness all the ups and downs. It could very well be your next door neighbor. Great read.....
Bentley and Caroline's story was absolutely great. The premise of the story is that they are a couple heading for divorce. It's holiday time and rather than tell their families of the impending demise of their marriage they both want to avoid the questions, etc by pretending to still be happily married. The events that then lead up to "the road back" are beautiful, wonderful, incredible, and heart warming! Don't miss this sweet story of believing in the power of what we used to be!

Judging a Book by it's Cover
Subtle overlays. Most prominent is the title and clasped hands. You almost miss the couple faded into the wintry background. The synopsis grabbed me before this book ever released and I've been chomping at the bit to read it. I hope it lives up to my expectations.
Looking Deeper
Alternating first-person POVs from Bentley and Caroline's perspectives. College sweethearts drift apart after eleven years together, eight married. On their last Holiday trip before their divorce, Mother Nature throws the ultimate challenge at them Learn to work together once again, or perish in her winter wrath. But with so much animosity and bitterness churning between them, will they be able to survive the storm?
What was not to love about this book? It was a heart-warming story that had the capacity to make you feel happiness, sadness, anger, frustration, passion, hope and joy. The lead characters are so humanly flawed and perfectly matched. Sometimes we begin living by rote and taking things for granted, this story was a wonderful way to bring light to that and allow us to regain some appreciation for what we have in our lives by flashing back to the experiences that first brought them together and the joyous occasions they shared. The compatibility shifts throughout the book as their lives progress or flash back, but it all comes back to the base chemistry between them that, when stripped of outside obstacles, becomes a driving force of inferno proportions. The dialogue is smart, mature, and natural. The story does seem to become quite sex-driven but under the circumstances of the setting, it's completely conceivable. The predictability was fairly low and the conclusion is solid. There's an extremely enjoyable POV in the epilogue that enhanced the ending.
Overall, I really, truly enjoyed this book & would highly recommend it. I'd also like to add that it's one of the cleanest books (editing) I've read in a very long time.

The Road Back to Us is my first K. Webster book and was recommended to me as I was searching for books about married couples for my blog.

I am glad to have discovered this book and this author! TRBTU follows a couple on the brink of divorce as they spend one last Christmas with family before announcing their break up.

An accident leads to days and nights spend fighting for their lives as they reflect on their marriage and relationship.

The author provides several flashback scenes which really help the reader connect with the characters and their history. Caroline and Bentley were desperately in love and let life's expectations and ambitions get in the way.

I found this to be a pretty light read and I easily finished it in one day. A dual POV also helped get into the minds of the characters and without it, I probably wouldn't have cared much for Bentley. As it stands, I was very pleased with the ending and recommend this for anyone looking for a light and sexy stand alone.
