l saw the movie version of Romancing the Stone when it came out. It made me laugh and cry. The book, although not following the movie version word for word, contained the heart of the movie with additional insight into the characters, locations, and situations. The book, if anything, was better than the movie as it allowed my imagination to extend my enjoyment. I laughed and cryed overed the book, but more heartfelt, more deeply! Highly recommended for those " hopeful romantics" in all of us!

I saw the movie and I bought the book for one line.
Yes, the villain who dies at the beginning had stolen a Bible in the book as well as in the movie.
i had such a good time reading this. it does tie into the movie pretty well. I coud almost hear the soundtrack to the film in the romantic moments. what an adventure! what a romance! jesus this woman can write! I am stunned and how wonderfull this book is, you would have to be a fool to disagree. Joan wilder welcome to columbia!
it was advertised with a dust cover but didn't have one when I got it, other wise, the book is in excellent condition, so don't judge a book by its cover.
